But you're right, I think the pace has slowed down a bit with the guides. I see the same 7-8 people editing posts though there are many more registered. I asked for a bit of help with my Beginner's Guide... only one person helped... I think it's more a question of mobilizing the people than to request more guides... there are already way too many stubs and dead links.

I'm 99% sure I'll swing by there after work (was going to go meet up crazzyeddie on the other side of the state but ah...) - havent even setup my new MBP yet because Ive been waiting for Leopard. Needless to say this week has gone by really slow.

OS 9 comes with a utility called Apple System Profiler. On a default installation it should be in your Apple Menu, but if it's not there do a search.

Well what will you use it for, what apps will you run? The ibook is not slow, the only time it will be slow is for running some pro apps such as FCP. Also you might want to consider the 12" ibook since the 14 and 12 inch have the same resolution.
Well, I'll be using it for notetaking, the occasional graphic work and quite possibly some numbercrunching come next semester... We'll be doing statistics :eek:
Basically, you could say that what I need is an advanced typewriter, but then again, I imagine that once I get to know the machine, I'll be wanting it to do more stuff? Never had a portable before....

Hi all, I recently rebooted and have noticed a small blue "bubble" on my screen. It is transparent and turns opaque when you mouse over it. If you click on it, it activates the function usually assigned to the F10 key for Expose. I can move it around the screen like something from Konfabulator. I do have both Konfabulator and Growl installed, but they are both off right now.. and this thing still won't go away. Any help?
That's the "Expose Blob." Do you have Cocktail? If so, Cocktail can turn that on and off.
If you don't have Cocktail, download it. It's shareware and you can use it for free for this one time. The best thing to do would be to spend the $9.95 for it in case the blob ever comes back.

The recruitment seminar is really relaxed and you will get through it as long as you be yourself, engage with the recruiters and other people there and ask plenty of questions at the end regarding the job. Don't come over too much as a hardcore Apple fanboy but talk about how much you can't put down your iPhone/iPod. During the group exercises, make sure you try and come over as a good leader but good team player at the same time - make sure that your ideas are part of the main focus but be sure to agree with ideas that you wish you though of. Otherwise, just enjoy it as it's really relaxed and you will spend most of the two and a half hours watching a presentation, videos and doing some group exercises. They get through hundreds of CV's at a time and to get the chance to be considered is a good achievement. Just out of interest, what store are you thinking of joining and what position are you after?

There really is no problem as you describe. It's relatively easy to hold the stylus and the console and still access the buttons simultaneously. Most games that utilise the stylus don't use the buttons much and vice versa. In all the controls are really well thought out in the majority of games. You can also just use your fingers on the touchscreen in some games (i.e. you get an extra big button in new super mario bros especially for thumb activation).
It's one of those things that's hard to describe. You need to have a play around to fully understand.

Does anyone have this problem? IPhoto duplicates the event section. When sync to the iPhone. Shows in iTunes but not in iPhoto .

We've spotted one glitch from the start: the main album page doesn't display the right images and the links to albums don't work.
Until we track down the problem and fix it, you can click on the user name for an album and view their photos by clicking an album shown on their personal profile page.

Because they are cheaper, more functional, lighter, more secure and easier to distribute information, than a traditional dell laptop most schools would carry

The late 2008 models run with Core 2 Duos, right? I don't think Core 2 Duos use DD3. They use DDR2, which would mean that you wouldn't be able to use it in your old MBP. Just look under "About this Mac" and it should say what memory it uses.

hehe yeah, personally I will never understand the appeal of coldplay. I think the best review I ever read about one of there shows was "Coldplay is a sugar overdose for the masses" :p
