Good work!
I myself am about to help another friend return to the folds.
She used to use a Mac years ago I believe, and I've been re-educating her over the past few weeks. She i believe is now keen to buy a Powerbook!

Only dilemma for me is to decide whether to help her buy a refurb or new one!

I hope that she will be successful with the purchase. The refurb is a good deal for those that want to save some money.

552,139 points sounds about right if your overclocked to 10.3ghz but if not then something is wrong :p

Anyways. Try and do a slight overclock to 3.5-8ghz and you'll be finishing bigadvs in no time. You need to fully complete 10 bigadv WUs to start getting their bonus. You will get 75k + points when you complete it. I get closely 90k points when I complete one, which is around 55k PPD.

Don't be afraid to OC, the 920s are the best and you can probably get close to 4ghz on air. See how far you can go on stock voltages. I got a really good chip as I'm at 4.2ghz @1.26v and it's 24/7 folding stable. Lower volts = lower temps and vice versa.

most of the rest of my links would be linux... were you looking for mac, or grids in general?

Okay, it's animated now, but that pushed the file size up from 103 to 245 octets. I hope the server can handle it.

It's animated to do what? Turn from black to black? ;) :D

Then how will the articles be taken off of the list when the Guide is created and up to spec?

Linkety (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Requested_articles) is an example but on a MUCH larger scale. Here's another good Linkety (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Requested_articles/Applied_arts_and_sciences#Computer_science.2C_computing.2C_and_Internet) that is an example.

Hmmm... the low lite thing is a little troublesome, as I plan on mostly recording my and the guys I play with on gigs. Sometimes the lighting's not too great.

I wonder if the Zi8 is any better? Similar feature set but without the waterproofing.
They don't really give much specific information about the lens on the Zx3 on the Kodak website...

... there are likely substantial numbers of developers interested in the conference's content but who were unable to attend.

You have that right. This fast post and free to registered app developers is a big consolation prize not making it to the conference. There were a lot of "parasite parties" around WWDC in San Francisco this week full of people that didn't make it into the conference. Some where public, some were invitation only and some were in between.

Glad to see such a quick update from Apple for us Windows users.

I can't save I've had the brightness issue, but did have the head phone issue which was an easy fix by downloading the newest audio drivers.

But thanks Apple....

E-PL1 support finally. :D

Agreed. I've been using the "Olympus Master 2" software with my E-PL1's RAW files and it's ssssslllllooooowwwww (like 20s to display a pic in 1:1 resolution). Wondering if iPhoto's RAW handling is significantly faster than the Olympus s/w.

Been holding off on upgrading from iPhoto '08 -> '09 in the hopes that '10 will come out soon....................soon?

Was there a reason you have one of the Few Razer Mice that is not suported for Mac? Mamba, Naga, Imperator, Orochi, DeathAdder, Spectre. All are Mac compatable.
Razer Naga Spec ( the one I use)
5600DPI Razer Precision 3.5G Laser Sensor
17 fully programmable MMO-optimized buttons
Maximum comfort for long gaming sessions
Custom interface AddOns for MMO games
PC/Mac compatible

From engadget.com
"Razer already provides full Mac support for a few of its gaming peripherals -- including the Naga and DeathAdder -- and basic support for others, but it's now taken avantage of GDC to "reaffirm" its commitment to Mac users. That apparently means that "all upcoming" Razer products -- including the company's line of StarCraft II peripherals -- will boast full Mac support out of the box, and that the company will be rolling out updates to some of its existing products "later this year," including the Orochi, Mamba, and Imperator gaming mice. First Steam, now Razer peripherals -- dare we say it's a good time to be a Mac gamer? "

Anyone know why they don't do like streams anymore? Is it a technology issue, or just the way they prefer it?

Dude, zarathustra, that photo of the Pismo in the Microsloth promo is so damn funny. And that is totally a Pismo, look at the light bouncing off the back of the lid. Anyone who's owned a Pismo knows those curves and their rubbery touch.

I like the Pismo, but I like the new tibook better......

... really strange, because those doping accusations dont come from mere conspiracy, but from serious research on the side of the testing facility as much as from the journalist who uncovered his identity related to the positively tested probes. The DNA testing method is accurate, the EPO separation and testing is accurate, too, all scientifically waterproof to the roof.

He didnt do anything to prove them wrong, just some rhetorics in that regard, noisy patriotic screaming live on CNN.

Dont misunderstand me: I dont hate Armstrong, but to me his behaviour seems to be troublesome at the least. Indeed he did nothing serious, nor anything productive and helpful to falsify those completely fact based accusations. Those results arent made up by the french because they hate him.

Actually he behaves quite like Mariah Jones, e.g., or similar doping cases in the last few years. Something seems to be wrong, and probably not only in terms of the 1999 tour.

What do you think?

Not with holy water, I hope. Thanks, torbjoern, as we know all computers raise concerns but less so Macs, your holy water comment made me laugh! I hope Steve is receiving blessings and good care and he is in my thoughts and prayers.

I ran some technical inquiries past OWC and found them helpful. It is a pity they don't have a store in the UK. Unless I am wrong on this and I don't know about the Mini, Samsung (and possibly Hynix) seem to be the only wholly reliable brand at 16GB in the 2010 iMac, which further cements my generally good view of Samsung. I will probably have to order from OWC and absorb the shipping/customs.
