People forget that Apple has first and foremost always been a hardware company, one that produces electronic gadgets. Yes, they started off making computers, but even as early as the late 80s/early 90s, Apple was moving into other directions, such as the Newton (PDA) and the Pippin (video game console.) I don't think that a keynote dedicated to the iPhone is in any way a sign that Mac OS X is being "neglected." It's simply a presentation matter. It's easier to make a 90-minute keynote talking about new features in iPhone OS 2.0 than it is to say, "Snow Leopard will not have any major new features. Whoopee."

Just for a quick check, I've got 10.2.6 and have the following Dock and Finder files in my /System/Library/CoreServices:
Finder, 368 bytes, version "Mac OS X Fake Finder 10.0", date 14/7/02, 11:34 PM.
Finder.app, 10 560 787 bytes, version "Mac OS X Finder 10.2.1", date 22/10/02, 11:35 AM.
Dock.app, 585 510 bytes, version "Dock 1.1.1", date 22/10/02, 11:25 AM.
I installed from the 10.2.1 CDs and updated to 10.2.6. Take a look at your files and see if they're the same size and version.
Edit: Just looked at the permissions, all 3 files are set to:
Owner: system
Access: Read & Write
Group: wheel
Access: Read only
Others: Read only

I just grew out of iMovie and am having a little trouble with FCE. I want to capture video from my Sony DV camera. In iMovie, I would click import, and it would make a new clip every time there was a cut on the original tape. I want to do the same in FCE, but can't figure out how do it. I have imported 1 clip by defining the in and out time codes but that took way to long and is impractical for doing hours of footage that way. What am I missing?

So my 2007 Xbox 360 decided to konk out on me today. It turns on and it makes the booting noise, but alas I just have a black screen (yes I've check cables). Fine, ***** happens. So I go to Best Buy to pick up the 4gb 360 slim. Low and behold they don't have it, all they have is the stupid 4gb Kinect bundles or the 250gb holiday bundle. They have stacks upon stacks of these goddamn bundles, but no stand-alone 4gb systems. Next stop, Target. Same story there, Kinect and holiday bundles galore, but no stand-alone systems. Next stop Wal-Mart, same story. Next Stop Meijer, same stupid story. Finally I go to Gamestop, and guess what only Kinect and Holiday bundles.
To say that I am pissed right now is a major understatement. Why do they have to stock all of these stupid *********g bundles? No one wants the damn things. Why can't they just stock more stand-alone systems? Maybe it's not the fault of the stores, maybe this is Microsoft's falut, because they won't make enough stand-alone systems. If that is the case, why do they have to be so stupid????

Bought it or built it myself. A man has to have a hobby. ;) I fold with Team MacOS X. Calling all Mac folders. Please spread the SMP client news (http://forum.folding-community.org/viewtopic.php?t=16715&highlight=) far and wide. Oh, did I mention it is SPEEDY and worth your time?! Can you say NATIVE?! I thought so. Now GO! :D

I bookmarked the no spoilers page and someone posted the direct link to the stream in the comments about a half hour after the keynote ended.
If you didn't know to look in the comments, you would have had to wait about another hour before Macrumors posted that stream link on the actual no spoilers page.

This is simply not accurate I'm afraid.
The 27" ACD works absolutely fine with the Apple OEM 5770 upgrade card with MDP, also with the 5870. After all, why would Apple sell these graphic cards if they didn't work with their only display? Further, my 5870 and 27" ACD get along like a house on fire. Note that you have to buy the Apple cards, not just a standard PC card like you seem to be implying
The first generation of ATI 5-series cards for PC didn't actually didn't follow the DisplayPort port specifications properly, and do have compatability issues with Apple products. That being said, your absolutely right peskaa, the issues were fixed with Apple OEM cards (but ppl who want to throw in any PC card just beware the 5- series cards are hit and miss on compatibility).

I have a hid device , because its class is 0x03. I use HIDManager and IOServiceMatching(kIOHIDDeviceKey), both can't find device, whether the kernel don't have matching driver, and I must write a hid device driver?

looking at it are you sure there is a airport card installed check sysytem profiller i think its not there !!
also if there is one it should just be open flap pull cord attched to ther card and press in it should click out

I just wish it was today, since I'm going to be out all day with doctor appointments and other errands. Tomorrow I don't think there's anything to keep me away from the Internet and TV spoilers.
